Discreet aerial overwatch for high-profile weddings
Wraith Aerial provides quiet, host-authorized drone overwatch for high-profile and destination weddings across Sonoma County wine country. We monitor the perimeter, the access points, and the parking — never the ceremony, never the guests. The goal is for the day to feel calm, not surveilled.
Definition
What wedding security drone is
Wedding overwatch is event overwatch (see the linked service) tuned specifically for destination weddings and high-profile celebrations. A single licensed drone pilot, flying a discreet airframe along the perimeter and access points, in coordination with the wedding planner, venue, and any ground security team. Almost no one notices it — which is the point.
What it covers
Scope of the service
- Pre-ceremony perimeter sweep (2 hours before guest arrival)
- Arrival monitoring — driveway, parking, valet zones
- Access point monitoring during the ceremony and reception
- Parking overflow tracking (the #1 wedding security gap)
- Back-of-house and vendor-zone perimeter coverage
- Thermal sweeps for late-evening receptions
- Coordinated, quiet handoff with ground security or venue staff
What it doesn’t cover
Where the line is
- Aerial photography of the wedding (book a wedding photographer for that)
- Overhead drone footage of the ceremony itself
- Guest-facing security roles or any direct guest interaction
- Anything that would interfere with the wedding photographer's own aerial shots (we coordinate with them)
In practice
What a real engagement looks like
A typical wedding engagement is 5-8 hours on the day: site walk with the planner at least one week prior, pre-ceremony perimeter sweep, active overwatch during ceremony + cocktail hour + reception arrivals, parking and departures coverage. Wraith Aerial coordinates with the wedding photographer if they are also flying a drone — we never compete for the same airspace.
Typical clients
- Destination-wedding planners working Sonoma wine country
- Couples hosting at private estates or vineyards
- Estate venue operators offering security as part of their package
- Public-figure or high-net-worth couples wanting unobtrusive security
Frequently asked
About wedding security drone
- Will the drone be in our wedding photos?
- Almost never. The airframe is small and operates from a perimeter vantage rather than overhead. We work with your photographer in advance to coordinate any moments where they want clear sky.
- How is this different from a hired drone photographer?
- A drone photographer captures the wedding from the air. Wraith Aerial monitors the perimeter and access points to keep the event safe — we capture nothing for public release. The two services do not overlap and can run side-by-side on the same day.
- Will the drone interfere with the ceremony audio?
- No. Wraith Aerial flies at altitudes where the drone is essentially inaudible from ground level. We are not overhead during the ceremony.
- What happens if it rains?
- We monitor weather throughout the engagement. Light rain is workable; heavy rain or sustained winds above the airframe's rating ground the drone, and we coordinate with the planner on whether to wait for a break or stand down. Outdoor wedding contingency plans apply.
